Permanent management level position in the Engineering sector in Delmas in South Africa
 
Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

REVIEWS
Review Company Mining and Construction Delmas reconciliation files on a monthly basis.
Monitor and recommend WIP actions.
Monitor and resolve Company Logistics issues.
Monitor and recommend Debtor actions.
Monitor compliance with company controls and policies, and recommend improvements to operations.
Review GIT, GRV suspense account & price variance accounts.

FOREX
Assume full responsibility for the Delmas foreign exchange exposure management, including but not limited to the following:
Ensure compliance with SARB regulations governing forex transactions,
Monitor orders placed in forex,
Reconcile FEC and prepare the necessary month end fair value journal entries,

GROUP REPORTING
Liaise with head office finance personnel in order to ensure that all head office requirements are met, that accurate information is supplied to them and that all reporting deadlines are met. Report monthly on BPC
Supervise Finance department in order to ensure that their work is accurately and timeously completed.
Preparation and review accuracy of all financial reporting information prior to distribution to users and decision-makers. This would include the monthly flash, debtor’s reports, management accounts, management comments and reports supporting the management accounts to the different cost centre heads.
Preparation of the quarterly rolling forecasts and submission of reports on BPC.

FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
Responsible for ensuring timeous completion and accuracy of all company AFS, ensuring compliance with all relevant groups reporting standards and obtaining audit sign-off thereon.

TAXATION
Responsible for:
Accurate and timeous submission of tax pack for the company.
Provisional and top-up payments for the company.
Reconciliation of the taxation account in the balance sheet.
Obtaining copies of all income tax assessments and resolving all queries raised by SARS.

BUDGETS
Preparation of budget templates, and discussion with cost centre heads.
Consolidation of the cost centre budgets, review thereof and submission to Executive for authorisation.

COMPANY CHEQUE AND EFT SIGNATORY
Review and authorisation of Company cheques and EFT's.
Ensure all invoices submitted for payment represent valid and reasonable company expenditure and have been properly authorised.

YEAR-END
Co-ordination of the year-end planning meeting for finance personnel, including compilation of a comprehensive agenda and presentations covering all significant reporting areas.
Co-ordination of the overall year-end planning for the company including the stock counts, timing of the audits, various reporting deadlines and cut-off procedures.
Liaising with KPMG on all year-end requirements.
Liaising with operations on all year-end requirements and deadlines.

REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS
Assisting the CFO with collation of data and preparation of reports/presentations including the following:
Internal audit meetings,
Half year and year end,
Budgets,
EXCO management meetings,
Other ad hoc requirements.

CUSTOMER CAPITAL EQUIPMENT PROPOSALS
Review and recommend on capital equipment proposals to the Segment Manager.

AD-HOC PROJECTS
Carrying out other projects / functions as requested by CFO.

Requirements
Qualified CA (SA)
At least 5 years relevant experience
Must be able to liaise at all levels on the organisation
Must have competence in managing, motivating and developing staff in Finance Department
Exeprience in setting up internal control policies and procedures
Experience in managing working capital
Proven competence in Microsoft Office applications as well as financial mainframe systems / packages
English proficiency and valid drivers licence is essential
