Our client, an industry leader in their field is seeking an AIX Administrator to join their IT department.
 
Job Description

Duties

• Monitoring.
• Reporting.
• Maintenance, administration and support of the AIX and Linux platforms and infrastructure.
• Problem determination and solving.
• Compilation, maintenance and support of daily, weekly, monthly and yearly processes.
• Working with development architects and product specialists to support the e-commerce infrastructure and platforms.
• After hours availability and support.
• Capacity planning.
• Strategic planning.
• Operational planning.
• Maintain software and components to latest versions
• DRP
• Optimum utilization of installed infrastructure, performance management
• Identifying and reporting on KPI’s.
• Implement and maintain appropriate security policies and levels.
• Backup execution and management.
• The architecture, configuration, maintenance and support of the AIX and Linux platforms and infrastructure deployed and required in an enterprise e-commerce environment.

Job Requirements:
• AIX 5.3 and 6 plus Network Install Manager(NIM)
• IBM P series hardware
• IBM Storage solutions, DS5000 Series, Brocade Fibre switches
• Linux
• Backup knowledge - Veritas
• Virtualization
• At least 5 to 7 years experience in enterprise AIX administration and support.
• Appropriate Degree/Diploma or relevant industry certifications and IBM AIX certification
