Platinum, various locations
As the world’s leading primary producer of platinum group metals, we produce 40% of the world’s newly mined platinum. Our mining, smelting and refining operations are based in South Africa, while we’re developing a mine in Zimbabwe and have exploration projects in Brazil, Canada, Russia and China. A part of Anglo American, we are helping to build the leading global mining company.
Chief Rock Engineer
This exciting, always-evolving role will see you provide high-level specialist rock engineering services and expertise to mines and projects (such as developing plans for mining at increasing depth to combat increased seismicity) as well as benchmarking the state of rock engineering practice in relation to established technological best practice. Functions will include the review and sign off of layouts, designs and rock engineering-related systems.
It then almost goes without saying that you are an expert in your field - evidenced by at least 5 years’ experience in mining rock engineering after obtaining a COM Rock Mechanics Certificate for Metalliferous Mines. A 4-year Mining/Geology (or equivalent) degree will be required. Ref: 677529
