Global Manager: Communications
(5-year fixed-term contract)


We have an exciting opportunity at our Sandton Head Office for a Global Manager: Communications with extensive PR experience in corporate and brand communications. The role requires strategic PR capabilities, strong media expertise and management abilities. This exciting opportunity will give the right candidate the scope to grow and develop an existing team of skilled professionals while being responsible for all aspects of Marketing Communications, Media Relations, Internal and External Communication.

Key Performance Areas:

• Enhancement and continued implementation of Global Communications Strategy that is aligned to the organisation’s business strategy and objectives
• Influencing of unified destination message with all key stakeholders
• Sharing key messages with identified internal and external stakeholders on the positioning of South Africa as a holiday destination
• Consultation with industry in terms of messaging on behalf of the country
• Reviewing and updating research that feeds into the output of global messaging
• Assisting business units, country offices and other units to amplify their work globally
• Leveraging of global (offline and online) media advertising deals
• Providing strategic information to media in SA and abroad
• Formulation of the in-country brand communication strategies
• Compiling and managing annual budget and expenditure
• Managing Individual & team performance and growth

Requirements:

• 3 year tertiary qualification
• At least 5-8 years marketing communications experience, with at least three years at senior management level
• Experience in digital media and online reputation management
• Strategic ability and strong implementation skills
• Corporate communication and marketing experience preferred
• Creative, dynamic thinker
• Dedicated and passionate individual
• Strong writing, communication and presentation skills
• Must have had exposure to management decision- making
