Permanent executive level position in the Engineering sector at a Global electrical manufacturing company in Germiston, JHB (Gauteng) in South Africa
Job Description

This position will report directly to the MD and will be directly responsible for the business unit's Sales & Marketing development on an International level.

Ideal candidate MUST have a BSc Electrical Engineering degree, this is NON NEGOTIABLE. Preference will be an MBL or MBA as well.

This is a tough environment and requires an individual who is able to withstand the pressures of it.

Goals/Mission:
The function contributes to achieving the business unit’s objectives through strategic and tactical marketing activities aimed at the target market.
Explore and evaluate business opportunities with all potential customers within the area of responsibility in order to remain the number 1 supplier for Circuit Breakers.
Provide strategies, market research and technical consultative sales and system solutions / proposals to the business unit in the field of Circuit Breakers.
Conduct internal and external presentations and training and liaise with Clients in the international market

• BSc Electrical Engineering (NOT NEGOTIABLE)
• MBA / MBL degree
• Strong technical industry knowledge / expertise with regards to Electrical
• Minimum of 5 years in a Sales & Marketing role at a senior level
• Exposure working with a global / multi-mational
• Prepared to travel internationally
• Strongly target orientated
• Business driver/ Grow business internationally
• Able to undergo intensive assessments/screening
• Strong personality/character for a tough environment

Tasks:
- Strategy – Development of new strategies in order to take the business to a new level responsibilities extend to internal and external communications, as well as interfacing between the strategic (planning and implementing) and sales (CRM) aspects of the business
- Marketing- understanding of market behavior, trends, challenges, opportunities are demonstrated and used for present and future scenario planning -segment//competition/product/pricing - understanding of product technical ideology
- Business Development - Pro-actively, exploring all avenues and opportunities to realize more business.
- Logistics – focusing on exporting of the product internationally and Africa. Utilizing the support bases (manufacturing plant) and infrastructure provided by the organization to strengthen the market share.
- CRM - Identifying, understanding, coordinating and responding to the needs and objectives of customers, demonstrating empathy, forming partnerships. As well as developing, maintaining and enhancing customer relationships.
- Budgets - Achieve set budgets
- People Management: Accountable for 15 people in SA as well as management of foreign offices in Germany and the US (17 people).
- Development of current markets in US, Europe and China as well as identification and development of new international markets.

Knowledge required:
Good technical execution, Understanding of technical ideology, extensive understanding of electrical engineering.
Knowledge and understanding of the Marketing elements, concepts and theories.
Knowledge and understanding of the external Market and business environment (Drivers, Behavior, Challenges, Opportunities, Threats). Knowledge of the sales processes and value chain for business strategy formulation.
Strong business knowledge base (Strategy, Operations, Financial Management, Communications).
Ability to analyze and conduct assessments for future actions. Leadership/negotiation/commercial/project management/technical qualification - professional knowledge. Management skills essential.

Experience:
Extensive experience in strategic and tactical marketing activities of a multi-national - application of the 'marketing mix', forecasting, consultation, strategy, distribution channels. Applying methodologies to assess trends and recommend actions.
Experience in consulting, export, logistics,
engineering, tendering, sales & marketing and change management. Budgeting, scoping, scheduling, implementing and review. Team skills and project management. Experience in the management of projects and staff. Proven track record and marketing knowledge within the relevant industry. Internal collaboration and exposure. Previous contact with key stakeholders may be advantageous. Technology qualifications and experience as well as business qualification.

Preference will be given to South African citizens.
