Quality Specialist:Information Technology
The purpose of this role will be the management, co-ordination and support of Quality Assurance activities
for Information Technology in the organisation.
Critical performance areas: ● Ensure that there is an effective quality system for IT in the organisation
● Conduct supplier surveillance, audits and evaluations with regards to IT Quality Assurance activities
● Develop and uplift the skills of IT personnel and suppliers/contractors in quality methods and processes
● Interface and liaise with internal clients with respect to IT Quality Assurance ● Participate in the evaluation
and review of IT systems ● Provide input with regards to Quality Assurance requirements in contracts/
orders ● Provide Quality Assurance on and release/accept IT products and services ● Provide support to
other Quality Assurance domains (software quality).
In the first instance, candidates will need a BSc Computer Science or diploma in IT or equivalent NQF
level 6 qualifi cation, plus 4-6 years’ experience in Information Technology Systems. Qualifi cation as a
Microsoft Certifi ed Systems Engineer (MCSE) is desirable and experience in Software Development
Lifecycle (SDLC) and Quality Assurance will be an added advantage. The person we wish to appoint
is a resilient, assertive team player boasting problem-solving and good interpersonal skills. Analytical
thinking is very important.
