STS BROADBAND

Information and Communication Technology (ICT), a division of the Quality and IT Department, has these
vacancies available. Applications are invited from individuals meeting the qualifi cations and experience
requirements, as set out below.



Network Engineer

The successful candidate will mainly implement and maintain network systems.

Critical performance areas: ● Install, administrate and monitor networks ● Troubleshoot and manage
faults on the network ● Manage the capacity of and report on the networks ● Manage confi gurations of the
network and maintain hardware ● Deploy and manage patches of the network ● Manage the security of
and report on the network ● Administrate the security token of the network ● Develop and maintain network
security policies and procedures.

This role requires a National Diploma in IT or an equivalent NQF Level 6 qualifi cation plus qualifi cation
as a CISCO Certifi ed Network Associate (CCNA), 4-6 years’ experience in Network Engineering
and knowledge of Visio. Experience in Enterasys and CISCO networks will be an added advantage.
Candidates must be creative and results-driven, be able to take the initiative and be good team players.
Problem solving-skills, analytical thinking and organisational profi ciency are also required.
