Information and Communication Technology (ICT), a division of the Quality and IT Department, has these
vacancies available. Applications are invited from individuals meeting the qualifi cations and experience
requirements, as set out below.
The purpose of this role will be the design, implementation and maintenance of network systems.
Critical performance areas: ● Install and confi gure network services and devices ● Implement and
maintain routing and switching ● Plan and support network and computing infrastructure ● Manage
network confi guration and maintain hardware ● Manage and report on network security ● Manage assets
and IP addresses ● Develop and maintain network security policies and procedures ● Document network
problems and resolutions for future reference ● Design networks.
In order to apply, candidates will need a National Diploma in IT or an equivalent NQF Level 6 qualifi cation
and qualifi cation as CISCO Certifi ed Network Associate (CCNA), as well as a CISCO Certifi ed Design
Professional (CCDP). This must be supported by 5-7 years’ experience in network engineering, extensive
experience in routing protocols and knowledge of Visio. Our ideal person is a creative problem-solver
who thinks analytically and is adept at formulating strategies and concepts. He/she is skilled at fact
fi nding, can easily adapt and respond to change and is a good team player. Planning and organisational
skills are also important.
