Assmang Ltd has the vacancies at their Black Rock Mining operation, situated 80km northwest of Kuruman in the Northern Cape:
Miners
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ensuring compliance with MHSA regulations, the Minerals Act, Code of Practice and instructions
- Planning production targets in the section
- Controlling and managing subordinates and Drill Riggs in the section
- Ensuring safe and effective drill and blasting operations in the section
- Reporting to the Shift Boss on daily production
- Performing ad hoc or any other reasonable duties as and when requested from time to time.
Minimum qualifications:
- A Grade 10/Std 8 Certificate
- An Underground Blasting Certificate for Scheduled Mines
- A valid Code EB driver’s licence.
Experience and requirements:
- Mining experience in development is compulsory
- Mining experience in a manganese mine environment and/or board and pillar mining will be an advantage
- Experience in trackless mining will be an added advantage
- The ability to work underground
- Preparedness to work production shifts
- The ability to communicate in both English and Afrikaans.
The successful candidates will be appointed on the condition of being certified medically fit as per the Mine Health and Safety Act, 29/1996. Preference will be given to applicants from previously disadvantaged groups to support the company’s employment equity plan.
