Assmang Ltd has the vacancies at their Black Rock Mining operation, situated 80km northwest of Kuruman in the Northern Cape:

Plant Fitters and Hydraulic Fitters

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Undertaking maintenance, faultfinding and repairs on conveyors, crushers, screens, feeders and pumps (Plant Fitter)
• Undertaking maintenance, faultfinding and repairs on hydraulic drills (Hydraulic Fitter)
•  Performing scheduled work through job cards
• Providing feedback on faultfinding, repairs and inspections to the Supervisor
• Managing and maintaining a safe working environment
  
• Performing ad hoc or any other reasonable duties as and when requested from time to time.
  

Minimum qualifications: Qualified as a Fitter – Red Seal.

Experience and requirements:

• Two years’ relevant operational experience in plant maintenance will be an advantage (Plant Fitter)
• Two years’ relevant operational experience on hydraulic systems/hydraulic drills will be an advantage (Hydraulic Fitter) l A valid Code B/EB driver’s licence
  
• A high sense of responsibility
  
• The ability to work underground
  
• Preparedness to work production shifts.

 

The successful candidates will be appointed on the condition of being certified medically fit as per the Mine Health and Safety Act, 29/1996. Preference will be given to applicants from previously disadvantaged groups to support the company’s employment equity plan.
