Diesel Mechanics

Assmang Ltd has the vacancies at their Black Rock Mining operation, situated 80km northwest of Kuruman in the Northern Cape:

Diesel Mechanics

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Undertaking maintenance, faultfinding and repairs on underground vehicles/earthmoving equipment
• Performing scheduled work through job cards
  
• Providing feedback on faultfinding, repairs and inspections to the Supervisor
  
• Managing and maintaining a safe working environment
  
• Performing ad hoc or any other reasonable duties as and when requested from time to time.

Minimum qualifications: Qualified as a Diesel Mechanic – Red Seal.

Experience and requirements:

• Two years’ relevant operational experience on earthmoving equipment or underground vehicles will be an advantage
  
• A valid Code B/EB driver’s licence will be an advantage
• A high sense of responsibility
• The ability to work underground
• Preparedness to work production shifts
  
• A valid Code EB driver's licence.
  

The successful candidates will be appointed on the condition of being certified medically fit as per the Mine Health and Safety Act, 29/1996. Preference will be given to applicants from previously disadvantaged groups to support the company’s employment equity plan.

Appointment: Remuneration will be based on a competitive, all-inclusive, flexible package.
