Specialist Internal Auditor

SPECIALIST INTERNAL AUDITOR
Braamfontein National Office
Salary: R652 570 all-inclusive (Level 13) (Ref. 2010/IA06)

Key outputs:

• Report to the Internal Audit Executive
  
• Provide assurance to the Internal Audit Executive such that the Audit programmes in use are compliant with the IIA Standards, SAICA Standards and prescribed computer audit standards
  
• Provide assistance to the compliance auditors in revising their audit programmes and ensure that performance audit techniques are incorporated into adequacy audits
  
• Assist with the ongoing revision of the Internal Audit Methodology and ensure compliance with relevant governance frameworks
  
• Ensure that performance, forensic and computer audits are conducted in an objective and systematic manner, using structured and professionally adopted methodologies
• Review the process utilised in the compliance of financial statements and ensure strict adherence to IFRS
• Conduct audits of a more complex nature, involving strategic plans, organisational performance targets, risk management and cost versus benefit analysis
  
• Assist with the development of software script for effective continuous auditing procedures
  

Competencies (skills, knowledge and attributes) required:

• A recognised three-year degree or diploma and a postgraduate qualification, eg BCompt Honours/CTA or Master’s in Internal Auditing (registration as a CA(SA) or CIA will be an added advantage)
  
• 5 years’ relevant work experience (including any period of articles).
