Business Manager - Tribology Division, Johannesburg

ALS Laboratory Group has a new Tribology (Oils) Laboratory, which will provide tribology services to the local region and the mining, transport and industrial sectors - with the aim of providing a predictive and proactive maintenance service to its clients. The successful applicant will be provided with the unique experience of having a hands-on role in successfully making the laboratory profitable by developing and maintaining high-quality relationships with new and existing customers and thereby delivering a high-quality and timely service.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Impeccable attention to detail
  
• Highly developed business acumen, with an understanding of financial reporting and language employed (eg P&L, NPV, ROS, ROI, EBIT)
  
• Experience in running and operating an oil analysis laboratory
  
• A genuine desire to lead and the ability to manage change in a dynamic environment
• An understanding of lubricants and their zaproperties and the ability to diagnostically interpret oil sample results
• The willingness to learn laboratory procedures and perform laboratory tests. Appropriate tertiary qualifications in the mechanical field, with additional tertiary education in Management, will be viewed favourably.
