Job Description

Directorate: Monitoring and Evaluation (Pretoria)
Chief M&E Analyst
Salary: R192 540 per annum (Level 9) (Ref. S8/3/2010/535)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree/3-year diploma or equivalent qualification in Social Sciences and Development Studies
  • Substantive experience in monitoring and evaluation and in conducting research
  • Knowledge of M&E systems, tools, research methodology, legislation and policies administered by the Department
  • Knowledge and understanding of rural development and land reform
  • Proven report-writing, presentation and analytical skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Valid Code B (08) driver’s licence and preparedness to travel and work irregular hours.


Duties:

  • Monitor and evaluate performance of departmental programmes, focusing mainly on rural development and land reform
  • Monitor rural development and land reform projects
  • Develop M&E systems, tools and procedures for effective and efficient departmental/organisational and project monitoring and evaluation
  • Conduct information verification on performance information
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluation studies and programme reviews
  • Provide support to provincial M&E Officers and Programme Managers.
