Job Description
The position is based in Pretoria
Director: Media Relations and Content Development
Chief Directorate: Communications
Total package: R652 572 per annum (all-inclusive remuneration package consists of a basic salary, the State's contribution to the Government Employees Pension Fund and a flexible portion that may not be structured ito the applicable rules. The successful candidate will be required to enter into a performance agreement and sign an employment contract)

Requirements:
- Appropriate recognised Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification plus credible appropriate experience in the media field
- Knowledge of the social development sector as well as national and international political developments and trends
- Knowledge of/experience in the Government communication policies, programmes and strategies
- Knowledge of formal and non-formal communication approaches
- Willingness to travel
- A valid Code 08 driver’s licence. It will be compulsory for a successful candidate to go through a vetting process as to maintain confidentiality.

Duties:
- Develop, implement and monitor media, strategies, plans and programmes
- Provide a content development function for the Minister, Deputy Minister and DSD
- Manage intergovernmental relations
- Attend, record and follow up on decisions taken at the Minister and Deputy Minister’s meetings
- Accompany the Minister and Deputy Minister on all visits, domestic or international.
