Mining Facilitator TWI
(Total Workplace Improvement)
Responsibilities: The purpose of this role is to assist in the total workplace improvement process by increasing the competency levels of the stoping and development crews regarding re-entering examination, basic principles of mining, ultimate face advance per blast, team stoping and total workplace improvement. You will be required to ensure that a high training standard is maintained, while ensuring compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act, MQA requirements and SHEQ procedures and standards.
Requirements: A Grade 12 certifi cate or equivalent qualification is essential, as is an NQF Level 2 Rock Breaking qualifi cation. You also require knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act, as well as a minimum of 3 years’ mining experience in the mining stope and development areas. In addition, success calls for a basic understanding of supervision, good English communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work with people from different cultures, while maintaining good working relations. Qualifi cation as an ETDP would be advantageous.
