Job Description

Barrick Africa also comprises joint venture partnerships, such as the Kabanga Nickel Project in Tanzania.

Regional Contracts Specialist: Project
(expatriate position based in Tanzania)


The appointee will assist in all project-related sourcing activity as it applies to contracting activities within the Africa Region. This includes, but is not limited to market analysis, spend analysis, consumption analysis, customer liaison, vendor liaison, tendering process, tender evaluation and selection, contract negotiation, contract recommendation, customer acceptance and contract sign off.

A Procurement/Inventory Management qualification (a degree in a commercial or technical discipline is preferred) is required. This must be supported by a minimum of 5 years’ supply chain experience, specifically procurement, logistics and contracts management. Experience in a role that requires co-ordination of multiple processes or sites is vital. Experience in contract management within a project team and mining experience will be considered assets.
