Job Description
St Joseph’s Care and Support Trust is a Non-profit Organisation and Public Benefit Organisation within a dedicated faithbased environment. It is a progressive NGO, situated in Bronkhorstspruit, east of Pretoria, and deals with HIV/Aids in its totality. Its primary functions are Health and Social Services, supported by capacity building and training. ARV & VCT Project Co-ordinator
Requirements: ● An appropriate a degree/National Diploma in Nursing in Primary Healthcare and a Palliative Care Certifi cate, coupled with at least 3-5 years’ experience in ARV and VCT programmes ● Registration with the South African Nursing Council ● Advanced knowledge of HIV/AIDS, VCT and TB ● A dynamic, self-motivated selfmanager ● A Dispensing Licence ● A valid driver’s licence ● Advanced skills in Microsoft computer programs ● The ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines, without compromising quality of work.
Essential criteria: ● Comfortable to work in a faith-based organisation ● Good interpersonal relations ● Counseling skills ● Good verbal and written communication skills, coupled with report writing skills ● Confl ict management and negotiation skills ● Effective time management skills ● Knowledge of the National Strategic Plan and National Framework for Delivery on HIV/ AIDS and TB services.
Key performance areas: ● Provide leadership to the team responsible for the ARV/VCT and Outreach Programmes ● Overall management of the ARV/VCT Section by ensuring that it delivers eff ective and effi cient services to patients and local communities ● Supervise Senior Nurses, Radiographers and other professional and admin staff ● Actively participate in the Inter-disciplinary Team ● Motivate and manage staff performance bi-annually and provide them with a working environment that fosters creativity and high-quality care ● Provide counseling and career guidance on staff training and development within the ARV/VCT Section ● Assist the Health Service Manager in the budget management of the ARV/VCT Section ● Manage the ARV/VCT Section by ensuring that activity plans are developed and implemented ● Assist the
Health Service Manager with the compilation and submission of monthly reports for the donors ● Provide assistance in the ARV Clinic during a shortage of staff ● Supervise all professional staff members within the ARV and VCT Section, thereby ensuring that they provide eff ective and quality nursing services to the patients ● Ensure that the outreach
programmes are developed and implemented by the responsible staff .
