Electrician

Service Delivery Department
Electrical Section

Electrician
Salary: R121 674 – R141 007 per annum
(Level 7 of a Grade 8 Municipality)

Requirements:

• Electrical Trade Test Certificate
• 2 years’ in IIKV reticulation and 400V electrical reticulation
• Fully bilingual, fluent in at least 2 different African languages
  
• Analytical thinking
  
• Wireman’s licence will be advantageous
  
• Excellent communication skills
  
• Valid driver’s licence (Code 10) and PDP
• Ability to withstand high levels of stress
  
• Willingness to work overtime or be on standby
• Ability to maintain the electrical apparatus so as to ensure good working standards.
  

Duties:

• Conduct joining of HTC cables to ensure that the network is up and running
  
• Conduct general inspections to identify electrical network problems
  
• Conduct connections and electrification of houses so that residents can have access to electricity.
